The Progressives Bus
The dream of a Progressives’ Bus is starting to take shape. Owning a bus would greatly decrease the cost of attending events such as SOA and Fighting Bob Fest. The possibilities are endless! There will be a lot of work that needs to go into making this dream a reality, and anyone who wants to be a part of helping should contact Ryan Schryver. One of the major init ial discussions will be fundraising. This Friday at Concordia Ballroom (La Crosse St.) the Progressives in the La Crosse area will be having a State of the Union P-A-R-T-Y! We will have a Progressives’ table there to help raise money for the bus so if you are available that night around 5:30 to help staff a table…show up! J

GET INVOLVED!

It is now the beginning of a new semester and everyone is back, refreshed, and ready to begin another semester of working on Progressive issues. We have brainstormed a number of really great issues that we might want to tackle this semester. We have come up with a lot of great issues, but it’s going to take a lot of you energetic and inspired individuals to accomplish our goals. A number of the issues that we will be working on could use a second, third, or tenth person to jump in and help. If any of the issues that we discuss in the meetings or that you see in the e-mails interest you please e-mail Jackie Jarvis at jarvis.jacq@students.uwlax.edu. Some of the issues that we discussed were:
Earth Day
Peace Week
Green Bags
Getting Progressives T-shirts
Working on the April Elections
Progressives’ Bus
Fighting Bob Fest Food Booth
Boxes and Walls
Movie Nights
Weekly Dinners

If you have any questions about any of these issues or if you are interested in helping…please e-mail Jackie.

PARTY!
In typical Progressives’ tradition, we will be having a social gathering to kick off the semester on February 3rd at 1104 State Street (Ryan’s house). This will be a theme party…the theme being The Beatles. Come dressed as your favorite song or something out of your favorite Beatles song. You have two weeks to create a costume. If you need help with any clever ideas, Ryan has come up with a list of ideas and would be willing to help you out if you e-mail him. This should be a fun one!
